Stopped in for lunch to satisfy a Gyro craving recently. Ordered the half Gyro / salad combo. The Gyro meat was fresh off the spit and tasty. Service was good too. The ambience could have been better, but we'll pass judgement on that as it was a Wednesday just past lunch hour. With such a fantastic corner location with ample Windows; I'd like to see a place like this have a small portable kitchen and spit in the front window for the lunch crowd who wants to know they can get served quick or take orders to go. They could also service the late night B-Rip party scene with that concept. I'll be back when the craving hits again. Worth a visit!

Gourmet Gyros in SoBro. Sometimes I just want a plain old gyros sandwich, like what you can get at King Gyros in Bloomington or Mr. Greek Gyros in Chicago. Sam's spicy gyros sandwich is on an entirely different level, and it adds a nice dimension to my gyros universe.

They soak the meat in spicy sauce and actually stuff it inside the pita (as opposed to wrapping the pita around it like they do at many places), so a nice puddle of sauce forms in the bottom of the pita. This makes for a really nice finish, since you're not just eating plain bread at the end. Your hands also stay clean if you're careful and don't blow out the side of the pita in the middle of the sandwich. The meat is abundantly juicy and flavorful. Yum.

The cucumber sauce is good, and they put plenty on. The cucumbers are diced, so you get a nice bite and more cucumber flavor than when they're shredded. It also tastes like there's some dill in there. Just enough to add a nice touch of flavor.

This is a sandwich you eat one deliberate bite at a time, savoring the mix of flavors and textures in each bite. It's definitely an experience. Highly recommended.

We also tried the falafel, which was tasty but failed to impress like the gyros did. Finally, we had the saganaki. It tasted fairly standard, but the portion was large, which was a plus.

Best Gyros In Town, Hands Down. One of the reasons I wished I lived in the Broad Ripple area. I tell you, it should be easy to get this stuff right. But their cucumber sauce is absolutely, positively, the best I've ever had and it complements the spicy gyro perfectly. Meat is never dry, and the pita is fluffy and a pocket (much preferred in my opinion to a flatbread sandwich)

Oh yeah, their hummus and schwarma are to die for also.
