Great dogs, consistently clueless employees.. The dogs are great, buns are properly steamed, and the ingredient combinations are unlike any other hot dog joint, but where on earth are they getting these people? They never have any idea what they are making. It's like they constantly just started working there. A group of guys from work would go every week and it was the same clueless people every time. It's like they're incapable of learning. If Gnarley can get some people with functioning brains in there, it would be perfect.
Pretty good. I went here when they were junk yard dog because a friend raved about it and it was very disappointing. Just tried it again because of a restaurant.com coupon and it was pretty good.
I guess it depends on what you get. I was concerned when I saw the box of 1/8 pound hot dogs. they are the cheapest hot dogs you can buy from Sams club. The buns are the sara lee buns from sams club. My wife got the chili dog made with those two ingredients and they were fair.
I got two 1/4 pound dogs. I got the Oklahoma slaw dog with no slaw and it was okay. I also got the silly philly dawg and it was really good. My wife got the cole slaw for a side which she was not fond of and we got two cookies(also purchased from sams).
All and all pretty good. I would go back for the silly philly, I just wish I could find a place with better quality ingredients.
Hotdog Fan. We ordered a frito chili pie, mac-n-cheese and a windy city dog. The pie was awesome. Great chili and just the right tang without being weird. The mac-n-cheese was good but i was missing a crusty topping like it deserved. The windy was as advertised. All ingredients tasted good but the bun got soggy really fast. They should really look at using a sturdier bun for the big dogs. I will return. Yummy.
Wow! The guy making our food was very laid back and friendly. I had the Junkyard Dog and loved it! I can't wait to come back again. The food was fresh and tasty. Awesome!
I have been trying to get to this place for a long time. It was well worth it. Got the recommended dog, brisket and Cole slaw on top of a 1/4 pound hot dog on a grill piece of Texas toast shaped with a square bottom so it stands on it's own.
Fried pickles and a drink almost put me I a food coma! It was so good. The dog was made to perfection. For my taste the sauce was a bit sweet but not a deal breaker.
For my taste I would prefer dill pickles instead of butter pickles but I ate every bite.
This spot is a special occasion joint for me. If I ate there all the time I would be broke and gain one hundred pounds.
Awesome place! Great taste! Gnarley Dawg is a must have if you are in the Tulsa area and are looking for some quality eats. They offer great combos and the food is prepared fresh and in a timely manner. Hands down would recommend this place to anybody, any day. The Kansas City dawg is an awesome choice and also there “Junkyard” option which includes any topping or sauce for free.
My wife and I visited Gnarly Dawg for lunch today. We were greeted immediately by a nice young man behind the counter. The menu is on the wall, and it is very nice and easy to read, with descriptions of the available items. The prices are very reasonable. I ordered the Denver burger with French fries. My wife ordered the Leroy Brown sandwich, a new menu item, with onion rings. The food preparation area is right there in the dining area, so it is easy to see your food being made. The prep area is very clean and organized. The dining room has a casual and clean feel, with some very neat decor of old license plates and automotive memorabilia. We got our food to go so we didn't stay to eat. Our food was made very quickly, packaged securely, and we were able to get back to work, where we ate. What we ordered was awesome in both portion size and taste. I highly recommend this establishment and will return to try other menu items!
Great locally owned place to eat. Very friendly and helpful owners that take care of you. My son goes for the different hotdog and sausages, and I love the choices of Burgers! Chili cheese fries and fried pickles are a must. Pictured is Okie burger with slaw and brisket on hamburger.
Oh my goodness, so, I have been passing this place for three months now on my way to our new store. I decided to try them out today, and holy smokes, it is the best hotdog I’ve ever had. I kept it simple and went with the Coney Island or and was surprised to see A slice of Texas toast as a bun. But after the first bite, I don’t think I will ever look at a normal hotdog bun the same. I had to do the curbside pick up today and not only was a great service with a smile but it was right on time as well. I highly recommend this place.
